A detainee who is nine months pregnant sent a painful message from the Israeli Damon prison.
In her letter, the prisoner, Anhar al-Deek, expressed her pain and fear of giving birth in an Israeli prison.
She wrote in her letter, "I miss my young daughter, Julia, to the moon and back. My heart hurts me a lot and I really need to hug my daughter. There are no enough words to express the sadness, fear, and pain I feel inside."
"What should I do if I give birth while I am handcuffed and far from my daughter, my husband, and my family? You know how painful the Caesarean section is! So, I can not even imagine that I will go through the Caesarean section inside the Israeli jails,” Anhar added.
Al-Deek added, "Oh, Lord, I yearn for your mercy... I am very tired, and I had severe pains in the pelvis and severe pain in my legs as a result of sleeping on an uncomfortable damaged bed. I don't know how I will sleep on it after the Caesarean section."
She asked in pain, "How do I want to take my first steps after the operation, and how the jailer will hold my hand, assisting me in disgust."
“They will put me with my infant in isolation because of the Coronavirus," according to Anhar.
She added, "I don't know how I will be able to take care of him and protect him from their frightening voices. No matter how strong I am, I would weaken in front of what they do and will do to me and to the rest of the detainees."
The captive Al-Deek concluded her letter, "call on every free, honorable, and responsible person to assume his responsibilities and perform his duties to assist me and save me from the injustice of the Israeli occupation."
The occupation arrested the captive Al-Deek last March, while she was at the beginning of her pregnancy.
