Israeli occupation detains prisoner Yaqoub Qadri in Rimonem prison in disturbing conditions

The Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Committee confirmed that the occupation authorities are holding the prisoner Yaqoub Qadri, who is one of the six prisoners who managed to escape from Gilboa prison last September, inside the isolation of Rimonim with very harsh and worrying living and detention conditions.

The Committee explained in a report received by Safa on Sunday that the prisoner Qadri was placed inside the criminal prisoners section in a cell that lacks the minimum necessities of human life, completely isolated from the outside world, and without electrical tools, as well as during the security inspection that is conducted twice a day, while his hands tied back.

The prison administration held a disciplinary court for the prisoner, Qadri, and imposed several penalties against him, including his isolation for 14 days, depriving him of the cantina and family visits for a period of 6 months, and paying a fine to the prison administration in the amount of 562 shekels. In addition to another fine of 2,800 shekels for repairing and restoring Gilboa prison.

It was pointed out that the prison administration informed the prisoner, Qadri, that he will remain in isolation for 6 months, because he is considered one of the 6 most dangerous prisoners held in prisons, therefore they will be treated exceptionally.

It is worth noting that the prisoner Qadri, 49, from the town of Bir al-Basha, Jenin district, has been detained since 2003 and has been sentenced to life imprisonment. He and five prisoners managed to take their right of freedom from Gilboa detention on September 6, 2021.
