Burnt, imprisoned mother enters her 7th year in occupation prisons

The burnt Jerusalemite prisoner Israa Jaabis, 37, from the town of Jabal Mukaber, south of occupied Jerusalem, entered her seventh consecutive year of detention inside the Israeli occupation prisons.

The Committee of the Families of Jerusalemite Prisoners indicated that the prisoner Jaabis was arrested on October 11, 2015 while she was driving her car in the street adjacent to the town of Al-Zaeem. The occupation authorities falsely accused her of attempting to carry out an operation by car. She suffered severe burns all over her body, after the fire broke out inside the car.

Later, she was sentenced to 11 years in prison, and upon her arrest, she left behind her only child and she has moved in several prisons and is currently in Damoon prison.

The prisoner, Jaabis, suffers from a lot of pain from wounds and burns. She needs to urgently undergo several surgeries, but the prison administration has been procrastinating in providing her with the necessary treatment.

Despite that, Israa managed to pass high school three years ago, and is very active in handicrafts and she participates in all activities.

Social Media platforms are witnessing a great interaction with the campaign in support of the prisoner, Israa Jaabis, and the hashtag "#Save_Israa_Jaabis".
