Muhannad Karajah, Director of Lawyers for Justice Group, has condemned the Palestinian Authority's arrests of political activists and critics in the West Bank. He described these arrests, which target individuals for their opinions and activism, as unacceptable and in violation of both national principles and human rights. Karajah emphasized that these actions must cease, particularly the targeting of students at Birzeit University.
Karajah called for an end to the so-called "revolving door" policy and the security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and Israeli occupation forces. He argued that the collaboration between the two is harmful to Palestinian sovereignty and contradicts national values, as both are complicit in suppressing political dissent and activism.
The Director urged for a unified Palestinian stance to stop the arbitrary arrests, which have notably affected students from Birzeit University and activists critical of the Authority’s policies. He stressed that these actions are not only illegal but also undermine the Palestinian cause on both a national and legal level.
