Diaa Al-Din Ahmed, a 24-year-old displaced youth from Gaza, has transformed part of his tent into a workspace where he practices his hobby of crafting handmade items. This new venture, born out of his displacement from northern Gaza to Dair Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, aims to generate income to support his family during these challenging times.
Having been enrolled in the Faculty of Information Technology at Palestine University, Ahmed was inspired by the struggles of fellow displaced people. Observing the scarcity of household tools and shopping baskets in the market, he decided to create wooden chairs, baskets, and gifts, hoping to meet the needs of those around him.
Ahmed shared that his passion for handicrafts began in his childhood, during elementary school. When the Israeli war on Gaza erupted, he focused on his craft not only as a means to support his family financially but also to offer comfort to others facing displacement in these challenging times.
