Israeli Occupation Demolishes a Home and 40 Shops in Southern West Bank

Israeli bulldozers demolished a 400-square-metre home and 40 commercial facilities in Al-Ramadin, southern West Bank, on Monday.

Anis Al-Zaghah, head of Al-Ramadin Municipality, said Israeli forces stormed the area, claiming the structures were “built without permits.” He condemned the demolition, noting that the home and shops, which included grocery and agricultural supply stores, were on private land supporting Palestinian families.

Issa Al-Rawashdeh, the owner of one shop, reported that Israeli forces not only demolished the shops but also burned what remained. Palestinians argue that obtaining building permits in Area C is virtually impossible under Israeli restrictions.

Under the 1995 Oslo II Agreement, the West Bank was divided into three areas: Area A (Palestinian control), Area B (shared control), and Area C (full Israeli control).

Since 7 October 2023, with US support, Israel has escalated its aggression. Genocide in Gaza has caused over 151,000 casualties, including 11,000 deaths—mostly women and children. The West Bank has also witnessed intensified violence, with 812 Palestinians killed and 6,450 injured, according to official data.
