Israeli occupation forces have carried out 9,941 massacres against Palestinians since launching their assault on Gaza on 7 October last year, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.
In a statement issued on Friday, the office revealed that 7,172 of these atrocities targeted Palestinian families. A total of 1,413 families were wiped out, with parents and all children killed, erasing them from civil registries. These families accounted for 5,455 of the dead. A further 3,467 families were left with just one survivor, with 7,941 family members killed. Meanwhile, 11,160 individuals remain missing, having not reached hospitals.
The ongoing assault has claimed 45,129 lives and injured 107,338 people, including 17,803 children. Among them, 238 were infants, while 853 were under a year old. The statement also noted that 44 children had died due to starvation and malnutrition, with 3,500 more at imminent risk of death for the same reasons.
The death toll includes 12,224 women and 1,060 medical workers. The occupation forces also killed 94 civil defence personnel and 196 journalists. Additionally, 723 police officers and aid workers were killed in 146 targeted attacks.
Seven mass graves have been uncovered in hospitals, with 520 bodies recovered. Israeli forces targeted 214 displacement shelters, leaving 35,060 children orphaned and 12,125 women widowed. Over 2.1 million cases of infectious diseases have been recorded among displaced populations, including 71,338 cases of hepatitis. Critical shortages of medical care also place 60,000 pregnant women and 350,000 chronically ill patients in life-threatening conditions.
The relentless assault has displaced 2 million Palestinians. Over 110,000 tents housing displaced families have become uninhabitable. The destruction includes 213 government buildings, 133 schools and universities fully demolished, and 351 educational facilities partially damaged. Among the dead are 12,780 students, 755 educators, and 146 academics, while 785,000 students have been deprived of education.
Housing devastation is widespread, with 161,500 homes completely destroyed, 82,000 rendered uninhabitable, and 194,000 sustaining partial damage. Over 88,000 tonnes of explosives have been dropped on Gaza, taking 34 hospitals and 80 health centres out of service. A total of 162 health facilities and 136 ambulances have also been targeted.
Infrastructure across Gaza has been decimated, with 3,130 kilometres of electricity networks, 125 ground transformers, 330,000 metres of water pipelines, and 655,000 metres of sewage systems destroyed. Roads spanning 2.8 million metres have been obliterated. Sports facilities, including 42 stadiums, have been destroyed, and 717 water wells rendered inoperable. The overall destruction in Gaza now stands at 86%, with direct economic losses estimated at £29 billion.
