British Companies Linked to Arms Exports Fueling Israel’s War in Gaza

Shipping documents obtained by British investigative platforms reveal the troubling involvement of UK-based companies in exporting military equipment to Israel. The records link several British firms to Elbit Systems, Israel's largest arms manufacturer, which produces drones and missiles frequently used in assaults on Palestinians.

The documents show that at least four companies associated with Elbit Systems exported equipment to Israel during the ongoing assault on Gaza. Among them is Instro Precision, a manufacturer of military electro-optical sensors for target detection and reconnaissance, which holds licenses for exporting components like "targeting equipment" and "military aircraft displays" to Israel. Another company, Scienco, based in Wrexham, exported composite materials for producing Hermes 450 drones—used in airstrikes that have killed civilians, including British aid workers.

British engineering firm Martin-Baker is also implicated, having supplied ejection seats for military aircraft to an Elbit Systems facility in Israel. The documents confirm multiple shipments from the UK to Israel, spanning November 2023 to January 2024. These exports, although partially classified, point to direct contributions to military operations in Gaza.

As reports of devastation mount, the toll of the ongoing Israeli assault becomes clearer. A Lancet study highlights that over 64,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 2023. Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have accused Israel of genocide, with the war extending beyond 15 months of destruction.

The involvement of British companies in arming Israel raises urgent ethical questions about the UK’s complicity in the devastation in Gaza. These revelations underscore the need for accountability and transparency as Palestinian lives continue to bear the brunt of these international arms deals.
