Displaced people continue returning to northern Gaza, 90% are homeless, and a tent crisis looms.

Palestinian officials reported that 90% of those returning to northern Gaza are homeless due to the complete destruction of their homes by Israeli military operations. The region is facing a severe shortage of resources, and there is an urgent need to provide tents and essential supplies for at least 135,000 families, amid limited resources and the ongoing blockade.

The displaced areas in northern Gaza lack basic necessities and are completely without fuel. Officials have called for facilitating the entry of fuel with aid shipments, as no fuel or gas has reached abandoned homes for the displaced.

The Gaza government has urgently requested more than 250,000 tents to accommodate the displaced, as only 800 tents have been provided for around 650,000 displaced people. They cited issues with shipments into the Strip as the reason for the shortage.

For the second consecutive day, displaced Palestinians have been returning to northern Gaza, with many walking long distances and using carts to carry their belongings.

Thousands are returning to Gaza City and the north, with strict inspections of vehicles coming from the south. More than 5,500 government employees are assisting with the return process, and over 300,000 people have managed to return to their homes.
