The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Observatory has warned of a dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, 16 days after the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into effect. Ramy Abdu, founder of the organisation, stated that Gaza's 2.3 million residents are enduring increasingly dire conditions, with critical needs such as tents, fuel, and medical supplies still blocked by Israeli restrictions. While 8,500 aid trucks have entered Gaza, only 35% reached the north, where needs are most pressing.
Abdu highlighted that Gaza's hospitals are in crisis, lacking essential medical equipment, and over 85% of Gaza's water wells have been destroyed, with repairs blocked by Israel. The humanitarian efforts are severely hindered by the ongoing Israeli violations of the ceasefire.
The Hamas resistance movement warned that it might take action in response to Israel's continued obstruction of humanitarian aid and violations of the ceasefire agreement, which has yet to deliver real relief to the people of Gaza.
