The Hebrew website "HaMakom" has revealed a war crime committed by Israeli soldiers against an elderly Palestinian man and his wife in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza.  

According to the report, a senior officer from the Nahal Brigade forced an 80-year-old man to wear an explosive belt around his neck and threatened to blow him up. The man and his wife had been taken from their home because they were unable to flee.  

During a military operation in May, Israeli soldiers used the elderly man as a human shield for eight hours, making him enter houses before them to check for dangers. He was weak and used a cane to walk. Meanwhile, his wife was held under guard, unaware of what was happening to her husband.  

After the soldiers finished using him, they forced the couple to leave toward southern Gaza. But after walking about 100 meters, another Israeli unit shot and killed them on the spot.  

The report also revealed another case where Israeli soldiers used a young Palestinian man as a human shield before executing him.
