Israeli forces in the north returned to a favorite target, Sebastia—a historical Palestinian town—to demolish several structures today, including three agricultural buildings, a caravan, trees, beehives, solar panels, and other objects.
The Israeli military then continued to the village of Burqa, confiscating a caravan used for tourist services. The IOF stopped in Sebastia on the way back to deliver a demolition order for a second story structure built close to the nearby settlement, Shafi Shomron.
According to local sources, it is believed that Sebastia will face an incursion by local settlers and the military tomorrow. This village has long been a particular target by settlers and the military, likely because it boasts several historical structures that have been preserved by the Palestinian community and are accessible to international tourists. These thousands of years old sites do not align with the settlers’ version of the region’s history, and therefore must be destroyed or brought under their control.
