UNRWA: The West Bank Faces Severe Repercussions of the Gaza War

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini warned that the West Bank is suffering serious consequences from the Gaza war, with over 50 people killed, including children, since Israel’s military operation began five weeks ago.

He described the West Bank as a “battleground,” with refugee camps reduced to rubble and 40,000 Palestinians displaced. Public infrastructure has been destroyed, roads demolished, and essential services severely restricted.

More than 5,000 children have been deprived of education, while healthcare, water, and electricity remain inaccessible. Lazzarini urged: “This must end.”

Meanwhile, Israeli forces have ordered the demolition of 11 homes in Nur Shams refugee camp, displacing over 5,000 people.
