Israeli occupation tanks obstructed ambulances carrying Palestinian patients set for medical evacuation abroad in southern Gaza on Tuesday.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that occupation forces blocked the ambulances near the Rafah border crossing and fired shots around them, despite their coordination with the World Health Organization. The ambulances remain stranded at the scene, awaiting permission to proceed.
Around 25,000 patients and injured individuals in Gaza endure worsening conditions, as Israeli authorities prevent over 15,000 from seeking treatment outside the Strip. Despite a ceasefire agreement allowing 150 patients to travel daily with escorts, fewer than 700—less than 30% of those eligible—have been able to leave.
Israeli authorities continue to impose arbitrary restrictions, forcing some patients to travel without escorts or separating families by allowing a mother to leave while denying her children, deepening Palestinian suffering.
