10,000 Palestinian Detainees Suffer in Israeli Jails

Nearly 10,000 Palestinian detainees endure harsh conditions in Israeli prisons, facing torture, deprivation, and systemic abuse. Over 9,500 are currently held, with hundreds from Gaza forcibly disappeared. Among them are 3,405 administrative detainees—held without charge—350 children, and 21 women.

Since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023, arrests have surged, with over 15,640 documented cases. Freed prisoners report torture, starvation, and medical neglect, while Gaza detainees describe sexual violence and brutal beatings. At least 62 prisoners have died since the war, 40 from Gaza, marking the deadliest period since 1967.

Israel withholds the bodies of 71 prisoners, 60 of whom died post-October 2023. During Ramadan, starvation tactics have worsened, with meager rations and banned food items. Despite the oppression, Palestinian prisoners remain resilient, fighting for survival and dignity.
