Al-Arqam School Bombing: Gaza Accuses US of Complicity in Child Massacre

Gaza – The deadly Israeli airstrike on Al-Arqam School in Gaza City has provoked widespread outrage after the massacre claimed the lives of 29 displaced civilians, including 18 children. Gaza officials have condemned not only the attack but also the silence and complicity of international powers, particularly the United States.

The school, which had served as a refuge for hundreds of families fleeing bombardments, was struck by multiple Israeli missiles on Thursday. The scene that followed was one of devastation—bodies of children pulled from beneath the rubble, survivors crying out for missing loved ones, and emergency teams overwhelmed by the scale of the carnage.

Palestinian authorities placed the blame squarely on Israel and its allies. They accused the United States of enabling the ongoing assault on civilians through its continued political and military support. “This is not an accident of war,” one official stated. “This is a deliberate campaign to break our people.”

Al-Arqam School is just one of 229 displacement centres bombed since the start of the war. Human rights observers have repeatedly warned that targeting such shelters constitutes a grave breach of international law, yet calls for accountability have yielded no action. The Gaza health system, already decimated, is now unable to treat the wounded as supplies dwindle and hospitals lie in ruins.

With bodies still buried under the rubble and the death toll expected to rise, Palestinians in Gaza ask what it will take for the world to act. As the bombs fall and the children die, silence has become a partner in this unfolding genocide.
