For nearly three months, the West Bank city of Tulkarm and its surrounding refugee camps have endured a continuous Israeli military campaign, now entering its 88th day. What began as isolated raids has evolved into a systematic siege marked by destruction, displacement, and deepening fear.
Entire districts of the city have been battered by nightly incursions, with soldiers storming homes, markets, and residential buildings. Nur Shams Camp remains encircled, its narrow alleys overrun by armed units. Families in nearby neighbourhoods have been forced to flee under threat, leaving behind shattered homes and empty streets.
The human toll is staggering. Thirteen Palestinians have been killed, including a child and a heavily pregnant woman. Thousands have been wounded, arrested, or driven from their homes. Nearly 400 houses have been levelled, and thousands more damaged. Tulkarm, once full of life, is now described by residents as a city under siege, emptied and silenced.
Rights groups say the assault reflects a calculated attempt to depopulate the area and entrench control. As the world looks elsewhere, Tulkarm is being erased—one raid, one family, one street at a time.
