Israeli Occupation Forces Bomb Indonesian Hospital, Sever Power and Besiege Medical Staff

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported a total power outage at the "Indonesian Hospital" in Jabalia after Israeli occupation forces bombed its electricity generators on Sunday. The attack has brought all medical services to a halt, with officials denouncing it as a deliberate attempt to dismantle Gaza’s already devastated healthcare system.

In a press statement, the ministry described the strike as an assault on the “lifeline of healthcare services” and part of a systematic policy by Israeli occupation forces to shut down hospitals across the besieged Gaza Strip. The ministry warned of an imminent catastrophe, as the lives of patients, including those in intensive care, are now in grave danger.

Since the early hours of Sunday, Israeli occupation forces have surrounded the hospital, deploying drones and firing live ammunition around its perimeter. The hospital’s director, Marwan Al-Sultan, confirmed that drones opened fire directly at the intensive care unit, wounding a patient inside. He added that doctors were forced to abandon surgery due to the ongoing threat to staff and patients.

This latest assault comes just days after the European Gaza Hospital was taken out of service. The Ministry of Health warned of a deepening crisis, with panic spreading among patients, the wounded, and staff at the Indonesian Hospital as the siege blocks the delivery of emergency care. Two patients were injured while trying to evacuate during the attack.

The ministry reiterated that the repeated and systematic targeting of hospitals by Israeli occupation forces constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. It called on the international community to intervene urgently to protect healthcare institutions and ensure the safety of medical teams and those they serve.
