Families of Israelis held as prisoners in Gaza have renewed calls for an immediate end to the war, urging their government to prioritise negotiations for the release of their loved ones. In a statement issued Friday, the committee representing the families warned that continued military operations are placing the lives of 58 prisoners in even greater danger.
They appealed to the public to mobilise in support of ending the conflict and securing the prisoners’ return, stressing that further escalation would only complicate any chance of resolution. The committee had earlier called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to pursue a deal rather than prolonging a war that risks both lives and remains.
Amid persistent bombardment and changing conditions on the ground, relatives also voiced deep concern over the possibility of losing the remains of prisoners already killed—citing tunnel collapses, terrain destruction, and the loss of contact with those holding them. Their plea underscores growing unease within Israeli society over the war’s cost and direction.
