In a brutal attack on civilians awaiting humanitarian aid, Israeli forces struck in eastern Khan Younis, southern Gaza, killing at least 65 Palestinians and injuring over 200. Many of the wounded are in critical condition, overwhelming Gaza’s already strained medical facilities, where shortages of vital medicines and supplies exacerbate the crisis.
The airstrike targeted crowded areas in Sheikh Nasser neighbourhood and Netzarim, where aid seekers gathered in desperate hope. Other strikes hit displaced families in al-Mawasi and Deir al-Balah, killing women and children sheltering in tents and homes. Gaza City also suffered attacks on residential buildings, with innocent families paying the highest price.
This massacre is part of Israel’s renewed offensive following the collapse of a ceasefire brokered by Qatar and Egypt. Since October 2023, Gaza has endured relentless bombardment that has claimed approximately 180,000 Palestinian lives, most of them civilians, and pushed the enclave towards a humanitarian catastrophe. The international community’s calls for justice and an end to the siege remain unheeded as Gaza’s people continue to bear the weight of occupation and war.
