The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported another wave of death and destruction, with at least 120 more Palestinians killed and over 550 injured in the past 24 hours alone. Among the dead were three bodies pulled from the rubble, echoes of thousands more still buried beneath collapsed buildings, unreachable amid ongoing Israeli bombardment.
Since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, the death toll has now surpassed 58,000, with more than 139,000 wounded. The Ministry estimates that around 10,000 people remain missing under the ruins or in the streets, as emergency crews are unable to reach them due to relentless strikes and the collapse of rescue infrastructure.
The past months have only deepened the catastrophe. Since mid-March, more than 7,500 Palestinians have been killed. And even aid has become deadly: in the last 24 hours, five people were killed and over 140 injured while trying to access humanitarian relief. These latest figures bring the total number of aid-related deaths to 838, in what Palestinians are calling a war not just on life, but on survival itself.
As Gaza sinks deeper into devastation, the silence of the international community continues to echo louder than the bombs.
