The Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza has denounced the practice of airdropping humanitarian aid, warning that it fuels chaos and endangers civilians rather than alleviating suffering. The ministry described these drops as a “deadly and chaotic” tactic employed by the Israeli occupation to worsen starvation and provoke disorder among an already desperate population.
In its statement on Wednesday, the ministry highlighted incidents where aid parcels fell onto homes and tents of displaced families, causing fatalities, including women and children, and destroying shelters and belongings. It stressed that the quantities delivered by air are minimal and fail to address the severe famine gripping Gaza.
Calling for an immediate halt to airdrops, the ministry insisted that the only effective solution is the full and permanent opening of land crossings to allow the safe, daily entry of sufficient humanitarian aid. It urged the international community and all involved parties to reconsider the dangerous method in the interest of civilian protection and to end the systematic campaign of starvation imposed on Gaza’s people.
