Starvation Claims Six More Lives in Gaza Amid Escalating Humanitarian Crisis

The Gaza Ministry of Health has reported the deaths of six more civilians from hunger in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of starvation-related deaths since the war began to 399, including 140 children. Hospitals, already crippled by shortages of food and medicine, continue to witness daily tragedies, particularly among women and children.

International organisations, including the World Health Organization, describe the situation as a “man-made famine,” warning that the ongoing blockade and severe restrictions on aid have created one of the most catastrophic humanitarian crises in recent memory. Nearly 641,000 people in Gaza City and Khan Younis are now facing extreme hunger, with warnings that the crisis could soon spread to southern areas like Deir al-Balah if urgent action is not taken.

Aid distribution has been chaotic, with food left in open areas where only the strongest manage to survive, leaving the most vulnerable, children, the elderly, and the sick, without sustenance. Relief agencies accuse the Israeli occupation of engineering famine through systematic restrictions, while hospitals overflow with patients dying from starvation and preventable illnesses. Experts warn that continued blockade conditions could amount to slow-motion genocide, placing hundreds of thousands at immediate risk of death.
