Proposed US Plan for Gaza Would Entrench Conflict and Deny Palestinian Rights, Warns Diaspora Representative

A leading voice within Palestinian diaspora circles has issued a strong condemnation of a new American initiative concerning Gaza, describing it as a mechanism designed to perpetuate violence and solidify control over Palestinian land. The proposal, reportedly backed by the current US administration, would establish a form of international supervision that bypasses legitimate Palestinian political structures and nullifies decades of collective struggle for self-determination.

The plan's framework allegedly seeks to legitimize the ongoing genocide by linking it to political arrangements imposed without United Nations authorization or popular Palestinian consent. This approach would effectively isolate Gaza from the wider Palestinian national fabric, creating an administrative entity answerable to external powers rather than Palestinian representatives. Critics compare the proposed system to colonial-era protectorates that denied indigenous populations basic rights to sovereignty.

Palestinian communities globally have unanimously rejected what they characterize as an attempt to legislate their disappearance from historical narratives and political reality. They are urging international allies to oppose any arrangement that fails to guarantee fundamental rights to sovereignty, the end of military control, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The warning comes as humanitarian conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate under ongoing siege and military action.
