Two Years On, London Marches for Gaza

Thousands filled central London today to mark two years since the genocidal war on Gaza began, demanding justice and an end to apartheid. The demonstration, which drew an estimated half a million people, stretched from Hyde Park to Westminster, transforming the capital’s heart into a sea of flags and banners. Despite the recently declared ceasefire, the message from the streets was clear, the fight for freedom and accountability is far from over.

Protesters carried signs calling for the UK to end its complicity through arms sales and silence, arguing that a ceasefire cannot erase the destruction or the suffering that persists. Many spoke of the unbearable toll on civilians and the generations lost beneath the rubble. The crowd moved peacefully but firmly, their chants echoing across the city: “No justice, no peace, stop the genocide.”

As night fell, thousands remained gathered near Downing Street, listening to speeches that called for rebuilding Gaza and securing the release of prisoners held without charge. The march ended in reflection and defiance, a reminder that solidarity cannot fade while injustice continues, and that remembrance, two years on, is itself an act of resistance.
