Calls Grow for Journalists and Investigators to Enter Gaza Following Ceasefire

Human rights groups have urged the immediate entry of international journalists and investigation committees into Gaza to document the aftermath of the genocidal war and ensure accountability. The call comes in the wake of the recent ceasefire, which many warn will remain fragile unless international law is respected and the underlying causes of Gaza’s devastation are addressed.

Observers emphasised that unrestricted media access is essential for exposing the humanitarian catastrophe left behind, with widespread destruction of homes, infrastructure, and essential services. Human rights monitors stressed that any attempt to block journalists or investigative teams would serve to conceal the scale of the genocide, shielding those responsible from scrutiny and preventing justice for the victims. They also highlighted the urgent need for forensic experts and technical teams to recover the remains of victims buried under rubble and to identify missing persons.

The organisation reiterated that a lasting resolution requires more than a temporary ceasefire: the blockade must be lifted, freedom of movement restored, and the reconstruction of homes, hospitals, schools, and vital infrastructure must begin immediately. Only through these measures, they argued, can the people of Gaza begin to reclaim their dignity, security, and basic human rights after two years of unrelenting genocidal war.
