Since the ceasefire came into effect earlier this month, at least 93 Palestinians have been killed and over 324 wounded in attacks across the besieged Gaza Strip, according to local health authorities. The two-year genocidal war in the territory has now claimed more than 68,500 lives and injured over 170,000 since 7 October 2023, leaving countless families mourning amidst ongoing devastation.
Reports indicate that Israeli forces have carried out multiple attacks in recent days, including artillery strikes on residential areas in Deir al-Balah and Khan Younés, resulting in civilian casualties, including two brothers. Incidents in Rafah and Bani Suhaila further highlight the continuation of hostilities despite the ceasefire agreement implemented on 10 October. The closure of the Rafah crossing and reduction of humanitarian aid deliveries have exacerbated the crisis for Gaza’s population.
Local authorities stress that delays in returning the remains of prisoners have been used as justification for further attacks, while thousands of civilians remain trapped under rubble. The ongoing violations of the ceasefire raise fears of renewed escalation, threatening both the fragile truce and the already dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
