Gaza Faces Renewed Bombardment as Truce Shows Signs of Collapse

Early Tuesday, Gaza endured a series of military operations that targeted civilian areas across the Strip, marking at least thirteen violations of the recent truce. Artillery shells and airstrikes struck eastern districts of Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Al-Bureij camp, while heavy gunfire and smoke munitions were reported across several neighbourhoods. Witnesses described explosions at dawn, including a detonated military vehicle east of Gaza City, as attack helicopters opened fire over the Al-Tuffah area.

In southern Gaza, renewed air raids and artillery strikes hit the eastern peripheries of Khan Younis, leaving at least ten people injured. Observers noted naval gunfire off the coast near Khan Younis, alongside coordinated bombardments by ground forces stationed along the city’s eastern limits. Multiple civilian buildings were damaged or destroyed, amplifying fears over the safety of local families in an environment already marked by destruction from the ongoing genocidal war.

Even in central Gaza, artillery struck residential areas and refugee camps, while eastern districts of Khan Younis came under sustained military operations. Residents reported a wave of explosions in Shejaiya and eastern Gaza City coinciding with heavy bombardment, despite the truce that was announced earlier this month. With violations occurring almost daily, concerns are mounting that the fragile ceasefire may not hold, leaving civilians trapped in a relentless cycle of violence and insecurity.
