Reports from Gaza indicate a sharp escalation in Israeli attacks, with 393 recorded violations of the ceasefire agreement since its implementation, according to local authorities. These operations have resulted in the deaths of 279 civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, while over 650 others have been wounded. Dozens of Palestinians were also detained during raids, reinforcing fears that the fragile truce is being systematically undermined. Officials described the pattern of strikes and demolitions as part of a deliberate campaign of collective punishment and destruction, in direct violation of international humanitarian law.
The violations include artillery and aerial bombardments, direct shootings targeting residential areas and displaced families’ tents, incursions into agricultural and residential zones, and the demolition of homes and critical civilian infrastructure. Observers note that these actions reflect a strategic intent to maintain pressure on the population and destabilise the region, further compounding the humanitarian crisis resulting from years of genocidal war. The continued breaches of the agreement threaten to unravel the truce and exacerbate the already dire living conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Authorities emphasised that Israeli forces bear full responsibility for the humanitarian and security consequences of these actions and called on international actors to intervene immediately. They warned that without sustained global pressure and enforcement of ceasefire terms, civilians will remain at severe risk and any prospects for stability in Gaza will be jeopardised. Calls for accountability are framed as essential to ensure compliance with international law and to protect the population from further harm.
