Night Raids Tighten Grip Across the West Bank

Israeli military units carried out sweeping night-time operations across the occupied West Bank, detaining large numbers of Palestinians in what residents described as coordinated incursions into cities, towns and refugee camps. The arrests, carried out from late Wednesday into Thursday morning, stretched across several governorates and were accompanied by house searches, property damage and the sealing of neighbourhoods for hours at a time.

In and around Nablus, soldiers moved through eastern districts, nearby villages and the Askar al-Qadeem refugee camp, taking at least 17 people from their homes. Families reported doors forced open, rooms ransacked and personal belongings broken or confiscated. Further detentions were recorded south of the city and in surrounding villages, reinforcing a pattern of pressure that local communities say has become routine under the ongoing genocidal war.

Similar scenes unfolded elsewhere. In the Qalqilya area, forces entered a village before dawn, spreading through residential streets and detaining a group of residents after lengthy searches. In Hebron, several men were taken, while one house was requisitioned and converted into a temporary military position. A hospital in the city’s south was also entered during the operation, with medical staff and patients confronted and equipment damaged, according to eyewitnesses, though no prisoners were reported from the facility.

The raids extended to the northern Jordan Valley, where two minors, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, were detained during operations in a town and a refugee camp. Others were reportedly held for questioning and later released. These arrests form part of near-daily operations across the West Bank, deepening fear and uncertainty among Palestinian communities already living under the weight of the wider genocidal war.
