A recent investigation has raised serious questions about a discreet network allegedly arranging flights that transport Palestinians out of the Gaza Strip to destinations across Asia and Africa. The inquiry points to the involvement of a settler-linked Israeli group known as Ad Kan, which is said to have played a role in organising departures for hundreds of Palestinians since May 2025. According to findings cited in the investigation, roughly 380 people have left Gaza on such flights, many driven by the catastrophic humanitarian conditions produced by the ongoing genocidal war and prolonged siege.
Documents reviewed as part of the inquiry indicate the operation may have been coordinated through a company called Al Majd, reportedly established to obscure the organisers’ direct involvement. Accounts suggest some passengers paid around 2,000 dollars per seat. Arabic-speaking intermediaries were allegedly used to arrange the journeys and minimise any visible association with Israeli actors. Advocates monitoring the situation say the scheme risks exploiting civilians facing extreme hardship and limited options for safety.
The matter gained wider attention in November 2025 when an aircraft carrying about 150 Palestinians landed in Johannesburg without clear travel documentation, prompting authorities in South Africa to open an inquiry. Officials voiced concern that such flights could reflect a wider effort to encourage or facilitate the removal of Gaza’s population. Many of those who departed, however, said their decision was shaped by the relentless conditions of hunger, destruction and insecurity created by the continuing genocidal war.
