Charles, a 27-year-old sports teacher from Valence, France, is preparing for an extraordinary feat: running 100 km across mountainous terrain to raise funds for children affected by crises in Gaza. Driven by a blend of athletic passion and humanitarian concern, Charles has committed his efforts to supporting urgent aid programmes that provide essential assistance to those living under the pressures of the ongoing genocidal war.
For Charles, the challenge is more than a personal athletic pursuit. Growing up in a family that valued culture, education, and empathy, he was taught from a young age to care about global issues. The images of children living under extreme hardship in Gaza profoundly impacted him, prompting a decision to combine endurance sport with practical support. “Seeing the situation inspired me to act, to channel my passion into something meaningful,” he says.
In partnership with humanitarian organisations, Charles has documented his training and progress online, engaging a wider audience and encouraging contributions. The funds raised will provide vital assistance to children in Gaza, as well as other urgent humanitarian missions where needs are greatest. Charles emphasises that every donation, no matter the size, contributes directly to alleviating suffering. “It’s about solidarity in action and giving hope where it’s needed most,” he explains.
