SAFA- Hamas has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, stressing its adherence to all terms previously agreed upon with mediators.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, a senior Hamas official said the Movement, together with other Palestinian factions, remains committed to the provisions governing the second phase of the truce, including the obligations of all parties involved.

The official added that Hamas is awaiting a clear and formal response from UN envoy Nikolay Mladenov and the mediators regarding the agreed framework for advancing to the next stage of the agreement.

The remarks came in response to the circulation of a statement attributed to a body identified as the "Peace Council," which reportedly contained provisions that differ from those agreed upon between the Palestinian factions and the mediators concerning implementation of the second phase.

Hamas stressed that any departure from the agreed terms could jeopardize the ceasefire process, reiterating that the original understandings must be fully respected to ensure progress toward sustained calm and the continued implementation of the agreement in the Gaza Strip.
