Britain has criticized Israel's approval to build thousands of new settlement units in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, saying that this move puts a viable two-state solution at risk.
The British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said in a tweet that "The UK has repeatedly urged Israel to end illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank."
"The decision to proceed with new settlements in Givat HaMatos [a Jerusalem neighbourhood] separates Palestinians in East Jerusalem from Bethlehem, and threatens the viability of a two-state solution," Raab added.
It is worth mentioning Raab's criticism comes after Israel approved the construction of 2,572 new housing units for Jewish settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
