The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee reported on Wednesday morning that the prisoner, Wafa Shalabi, from Ramallah, had been infected with Coronavirus.
The committee stated in a statement reached Safa that the Israeli forces had arrested the prisoner Shalabi several days ago and placed him in the Ashkelon investigation center and there he underwent a coronavirus test and the result was positive.
The Israeli court yesterday had extended his detention for 11 days under the pretext of completing the investigation.
The committee pointed out that with the infection of the detainee Shalabi with Coronavirus, the total number of prisoners who were officially declared infected escalated to about 362 prisoners, who are languishing in several prisons and detention centers.
