Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper claimed, on Monday, that there were communications between the Palestinian Authority and Israel, aiming to ensure the authority's support of Benjamin Netanyahu to become the Prime Minister of the coming government.
"The communications aim at encouraging the Arab citizens of Israel to vote for the Likud party," the newspaper said.
It added, "What is required of the Palestinian Authority is to encourage the Arab citizens of Israel to vote for the Likud party instead of the Joint List and to present Netanyahu as the best choice for Palestinians in contrast with Gideon Sa'ar and Neftali Bennett, who are most extremist.
The Likud party denied those communications, noting that the Palestinian Authority prefers Yair Lapid to be the president of the Israeli government.
