The member of the Israeli Knesset, Irit Struck, on Tuesday presented a new bill to legitimize the settlement outposts scattered in the West Bank.
The Hebrew newspaper, Israel Hayom, reported that the bill was submitted to the previous Knesset and approved in a preliminary reading, but it was withdrawn from the agenda with the dissolution of the Knesset and the going towards new elections.
A settlement official in the northern West Bank, Yossi Dagan, said that the Knesset today contains a majority of right-wing parties, and therefore the law is expected to be passed.
The bill seeks to legalize more than 100 settlement outposts during the next two years, transforming them into recognized Israeli settlements and providing them with services.
