Israel creates 388 rubbish dumps and burns 96.000 trees in a year

Land Research Center in Arab Studies Society (Jerusalem) stated that the Israeli occupation randomly created more than 388 rubbish dumps in the occupied Palestinian lands last year.

The Center said in a statement today on the occasion of Earth Day that the rubbish dumps were established without regard to the rights of properties.

The statement said that the last year, the year of coronavirus, was the most sadistic for the Israeli occupation as its violations over the Palestinian environment and the Palestinians were doubled.

It added that the Israeli occupation does not only occupy lands and demolish houses,  but it also uproots trees, dredges lands, destroys water wells, and makes them dumpsters instead.

The statement also said that the Israeli occupation pours the wastewater from synthetic waste, human waste, and household waste to the Palestinian lands. This forces the farmers to leave their lands and paves the way for the occupation to occupy them.

It mentioned that the Israeli occupation uprooted and burned almost 96521 trees, 80% of them were olive trees, last year.

3830 dunums of the Palestinian lands were dredged, 78 water wells were demolished,  388 houses were destroyed, and wastewater floods reached six, according to the statement released by the Land Research Center.
