Haniyeh meets Qatar's Foreign Minister... and warns of risks posed by delay of elections

Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political office of Hamas, discussed with the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, important issues and political developments regarding the Palestinian cause. 

Haniyeh briefed him on what is happening in occupied Jerusalem nowadays. 

He mentioned the Palestinian people's resistance and the Jerusalemites' ability to confront the Israeli procedures. 

He confirmed that Jerusalem is the core of the conflict with Israel, and can not be compromised. 

"Conflict in Jerusalem is a struggle for the Palestinian identity and existence in Jerusalem. Our people bravely confront Israel's attempts to Judaize the holy city, remove the Islamic civilization, divide Al-Aqsa Mosque, and desecrate the Christian and Islamic holy places," he said. 

Leaders of Hamas, who attended the meeting, confirmed its constant position on the conduct of elections, and that the national will requires to conduct elections despite Israel's agreement, especially in Jerusalem as it is a national battle that they must win. 

Haniyeh considered the scene drawn by the Jerusalemites in the recent days as proof that the Palestinians' can impose their will.

They warned that any reluctance to conduct elections in Jerusalem means granting Israel the chance to achieve its goals. 

They also mentioned the good relations with Qatar, the constant positions towards the Palestinians and their national rights, and the role of Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar in the different humanitarian and political fields. 

They also discussed the monthly Qatari grant and ways to relieve the suffering of Palestinians, help them and strengthen their resistance.
