US Congresswoman of Minnesota Betty McCollum said that the Israeli police violence against Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah who only want to remain in the homes they have lived in for generations is state-sponsored persecution.

In her tweet, McCollum affirmed that "No U.S. taxpayer dollars should support the annexation of Palestinian land or destruction of Palestinian homes."

It is worth noting that McCollum had submitted a bill to Congress linking US aid to Israel, with respect for Palestinian rights.
