The Islamic Resistance Movement- Hamas said, today in a statement, that US Ambassador to Israel Friedman’s remarks that Israel's West Bank annexation has been "postponed, not canceled" exposes the lies of those who rushed to normalize their relations with Israel.
Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif Qanou confirmed in the statement, a copy of which obtained by SAFA, that the Arab countries, the UAE and Bahrain, were engaging in "deception to pass the crime of normalization."
"The US Ambassador to Israel David Freidman’s confirmation that Israeli annexation plans had been postponed exposes the lies told by some Arab regimes who sought to normalization ties with Israel," he underscored. "These remarks expose the false justifications of Arab states that signed normalization agreements."
Friedman told the Israeli media that the Israeli plan to annex West Bank has been suspended for at least one year, but not canceled.
"The words that we chose was to suspend the declaration of sovereignty,” Friedman said. “It means temporarily. It could take a year or two or more before we are back to that issue. We already made it clear that the issue has been postponed – that doesn’t mean that it’s canceled. It just means that for the time being, it’s on pause; it’s not off the table."
