Arab League condemns Israeli bombing of Gaza

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the Kill of 24 Palestinians, including 9 children.

Aboul Gheit described, in a statement on Tuesday, that these attacks are indiscriminate and irresponsible, driven by tendencies of revenge and internal political goals at the expense of children's blood.

He held Israel responsible for this dangerous escalation, stressing that the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the Israeli government's tolerance of Jewish extremists hostile to the Palestinians and Arabs is what led to igniting the situation in this dangerous way.

The international community was called on to intervene urgently to stop this Israeli aggression in Jerusalem, Gaza, and all the occupied Palestinian territories.

Aboul Gheit clarified that a video conference meeting will be held today for Arab foreign ministers to discuss the implications of the situation in Jerusalem.
