Two prisoners continue their hunger strike against administrative detention and solitary confinement

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee said on Sunday that the prisoners Ghadanfar Abu Atwan and Khaled Makhamra are continuing their hunger strike against the policy of administrative detention and arbitrary solitary confinement.

The committee stated in a statement that reached Safa that Abu Atwan, 28, from the town of Dura in the Hebron governorate, who has been in detention since October last year, is continuing his hunger strike for the 19th consecutive day against his administrative detention, and is in the isolation in Ohlikdar prison, after his transfer from Raymond prison a few days ago.

The prisoner Khaled Makhamreh, 26, from the city of Yatta, south of Hebron, is continuing his hunger strike for the ninth consecutive day, refusing to have been arbitrarily isolated in the cells of Hadarim prison for three continuous months.

The committee indicated that the Israeli prison administration continues to deny Makhmreh from the canteen, and faces repeated attacks by the jailers.

It is reported that he has been detained since 2016 and sustained several gunshot wounds during his arrest.
