Four prisoners continue hunger strike protesting their administrative detention

The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said that four prisoners in the Israeli Negev Prison are continuing their hunger strike protesting their administrative detention. They are Muhammad al-Zughair, Salem Zidat, Muhammad Omar and Mujahid Hamed.

PPS said in a press statement on Wednesday that the prisoner Muhammad al-Zughair, 34, from Hebron, began a hunger strike three days ago, which is the second strike during his last detention since April 2020.

Al-Zughair is a human rights activist against the Israeli settlements. He is married and a father of three children.

Moreover, PPS pointed out that the prisoner Salem Zidat, 40, from the town of Bani Naim, has been on a hunger strike for three days. He has been detained since February 22, 2020. He is a father of five children.

As for the prisoner Muhammad Omar, 26, from Tulkarm, he started his hunger strike on Tuesday. He has been detained since October 2020.

In addition, PPS said that the prisoner Mujahid Hamed, from Silwad town in Ramallah, has been detained since September 22, 2020. He is a former prisoner who spent 9 years in the prisons of the occupation.

It should be noted that the number of administrative detainees in the occupation prisons is more than 520.
