Cancellation of transferring UAE oil to Israel stifles their relations

The United Arab Emirates on Monday warned of signs of a diplomatic crisis that will afflict its relations with Israel, following the decision of the Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection to cancel the agreement to transport oil to Israel.

The Hebrew newspaper Israel Today reported that an agreement was recently signed between the Israeli Oil Transmission Line Company CATSA with the Emirates Oil Company, which provides for the transfer of Emirati oil through Israel and from there to the countries of the world through the infrastructure owned by the Israeli company.

It quoted official sources in Abu Dhabi as saying that "the cancellation of the agreement would ruin the relations between the two sides, whether with the new Israeli government or with Israeli commercial companies."

In addition, canceling the agreement is considered a retraction from the commercial annexes of the Abraham agreements that were signed between Israel and the UAE months ago and which require a comprehensive normalization of relations.

It was also reported that Abu Dhabi does not intend to give it up easily and will go to an international arbitrator in this regard, pointing out that it incurred financial losses estimated at millions of dollars in the planning stage and it is not easy to back down now.
