Journalist Support Committee (JSC) said that the Israeli occupation authorities are targeting the lives of Palestinian journalists with the policy of detention.
In its report, a copy of which obtained by Safa, JSC called on the International Federation of Journalists, human rights institutions, and defenders of freedom of press and expression to intervene to stop the detention policy.
It called for standing by the Palestinian journalists, 25 of whom are in Israeli prisons, and to work by all means to release them.
It concluded its report by saying that the Israeli occupation courts are delaying the release of the prisoner, Tamer Al-Barghouti, from Kobar, Ramallah, who was supposed to be released during the current month of July 2021, after he finished 8 months in the occupation’s prisons. The occupation court postponed the date for the release of Al-Barghouti until August 10.
