Launching national campaign to support administrative prisoners next week

The Prisoners' Committee of Islamic and National Forces announced on Monday the launch of a national campaign to support administrative prisoners in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, next Sunday.

The committee's coordinator, Zaki Dababesh, said that the campaign will be launched with the participation of all institutions concerned with prisoners' affairs and the captive national movement in the occupation prisons.

The number of prisoners on hunger strike in the Israeli occupation prisons has risen to 17, including 16 who refused their administrative detention, as the prisoner Yousef Al-Amer from Jenin camp joined the strike five days ago.

According to the prisoners’ institutions, about 40 prisoners have been on hunger strikes since the beginning of this year, the longest of which was the two freed prisoners Maher Al-Akhras and Al-Ghadanfar Abu Atwan, the last of which was the strike of the prisoner Muhammad Al-Zughayer, most of which were a rejection of the administrative detention policy, knowing that the number of administrative prisoners reached about 540 until the end of last June.
