Prisoners Committee: Minors face harsh conditions in occupation cells

The lawyer of the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Committee revealed, during her visit to Megiddo prison, the brutal methods of repression that child prisoners and minors are subjected to, and the difficult living conditions inside Etzion cells during their arrest and interrogation.

Prisoner Muhammad Ali Muhammad Musleh, 17, from Dheisheh camp, said: "The conditions of life in Etzion Detention Center are very bad, as the food is bad and its quantities are small.

He added, "Also, they do not allow us to shower except once and for a few minutes. The beds are worn out of iron and there are no mattresses on them, and there are dirty blankets that the prisoners spread on the beds to sleep on them."

The lawyer stated that "the situation is dire in the Etzion prison, so Muhammad Musleh and a group of cubs decided to go on an open hunger strike until their demand was met, which is to transfer them to Megiddo Prison."

In a related context, Section 18 in Ofer Detention Center was transferred to a special section to hold the cubs who are newly arrested or who are transferred from other prisons to Ofer.

The number of child detainees and minors in the prisons of the occupation reached about 200 prisoners.
