11 mothers in Israeli occupation prisons

The Palestinian Prisoner Club said on Wednesday that the Israeli occupation continues to detain 11 mothers in its prisons, who are among 40 female prisoners, most of whom are in Damon prison. The occupation deprives them of their children, in addition to the harsh conditions of detention that female prisoners face, including the intense details in prisons, which are systematic and abusive measures.

The club explained in a statement received by Safa, that the occupation prisons administration deprives the prisoners of open visits by their children and from enabling them to embrace them, and the deprivation has doubled since the beginning of last year with the beginning of the epidemic, due to irregular visits.

The issue of depriving the captive Khaleda Jarrar of bidding farewell to her daughter, Suha Jarrar, constituted a type for the most severe types of oppression and deprivation, as it denied and deprived hundreds of prisoners of farewell to their loved ones.

The occupation forces On March 8, 2021, arrested the captive Anhar, 26, from Ramallah, who is a mother of a girl and was arrested when she was 3-months pregnant, and despite this, she was detained in harsh conditions.

Despite the legal attempts that are taking place until today, the occupation authorities continue to arrest her despite the approaching date of her birth, without any regard for her case.

It was pointed out that eight female prisoners gave birth in the occupation prisons, and were subjected to compelling and inhumane conditions.

The issue of women's detention has significantly escalated since 2015, and the number of female prisoners who have been arrested since 2015 has reached more than (1,000), including mothers of prisoners and martyrs, and underage girls, especially in Jerusalem.

The occupation authorities practice methods of torture and abuse against female prisoners, represented by holding them in cells that are not suitable for human life, in addition to the living conditions they suffer from, which the prison administration repudiates under the pretext that there is insufficient budget to carry out reforms that threaten their lives.
