The specialist in the affairs of detainees and ex-detainees, Abdel Nasser Farwana, said on Saturday that the Israeli occupation has detained 130 Palestinian women since the beginning of 2021, most of them from the occupied city of Jerusalem.
Farwana added that the occupation authorities have never excluded women from their brutality and arbitrary detention, in an attempt to deter them and limit their role.
He pointed out that since 1967, the occupation authorities have detained more than 17,000 Palestinian women, including minors, students, mothers, and pregnant women, without taking into account their privacy and special needs.
It should be noted that the occupation authorities are still holding 40 Palestinian females in their jails, including 11 mothers, the most prominent of whom is the pregnant prisoner Anhar al-Deek, who is about to give birth in prison.
